- dang 7y agoHN doesn't block VPNs. What are you observing that leads you to say that?
- yorwba 7y agoDon't you ban IP addresses in some cases? https://hn.algolia.com/?query=by:dang%20IP%20banned&sort=byDate&prefix=false&page=0&dateRange=all&type=comment https://hn.algolia.com/?query=by:dang%20IP%20banned&sort=byD... suggests you do. That could result in effectively banning a VPN.
- dang 7y agoWe do, but not usually heavily used ones, and the VPNs we're aware of use lots of IPs.
- xster 7y agoDid you mean that HN isn't accessible through VPN? i.e. it only tunnels domains selectively?
- stef25 7y agoThe VPN blocks HN, not the other way round
