I found this page: https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/201907/supplemental/page-1 https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/201907/supplemental/pa... which shows the global land and sea temperatures for the ten hottest years and how July 2019 compares to them. According to this chart, July is not the hottest month or even the hottest July, so the claim that July is the hottest month on record must be talking only about global land temperatures. I wish they would have put this in context instead of trying for a click-bait type headline.
