My special pet peeve is when the country list has been translated, but uses the sorting order of the english names.
So much find searching for Deutschland under G. Seems to happen quite a bit.
- Cenk 7y agoMine is the country search box that Google uses in some places, where typing G brings up all countries that include the letter G, but in alphabetical order. Meaning “Afghanistan“ is on top, so I type “Ge“, which results in “Algeria“ being first. It’s so infuriating and makes no sense at all. Why would someone looking for Algeria search for Ge? - dsego 7y agoOh, also experienced this on some sites, where you can see they plugged in translation to come after the sql queries are done, so the 'sort by' happens before the strings get replaced.
