Even just saying hey here's a person that did a nice thing brings out haters. It gets much worse if the action is associated with a political viewpoint that significant numbers of people oppose for any reason. I would never ever ever want any of my good deeds to be highlighted in some media article. It would be no end of trouble. Don't talk to cops. Don't talk to reporters.
