  Google also responded immediately to getting hacked by the Chinese - no more Windows laptops or PCs for developers 10 years ago. The security of Chrome is astounding (and certainly far better than Apple or Microsoft). The only black stain is Android... (Edit: disclaimer: I use Android)

    They can't win here on HN can they ? Mistakes happen. It's how you respond that counts as well.

    I bet that's exactly what most companies did. Most enterprise WANs are probably still not encrypted today and it would bankrupt their IT departments to do it.
