When HN is no longer mostly serious business it will lose all its value. There's a reason why we don't go to Reddit and there's a reason why Redditors are coming here. We need a place that isn't all "intertubes" and "tl;dr". He wasn't being pompous, that's how most of us feel here.
- oconnore 16y agoHas your reading of HN directly resulted in a measurable profit for yourself or others in a commonly accepted currency, such as USD or Euro? If not, then it is leisure, not business.
