This is awesome. I wrote a Terrain-RGB to greyscale PNG converter and would love to play around with this in a demo map for a 3D preview or something. How are you rendering the mesh in your notebook? Threejs?

All the code is there — browse to the bottom and click on the left side of ThreeJS sections to expand them.
