fwiw, having been at a company from 6-160 people, early stages, investors aren't a great source of ICs. They end up a lot more useful when you are hiring senior leadership and an executive team. These roles align better with their own personal and professional networks. We had a little luck tapping YC and YC alums early on though to some extent, and posting job reqs here on HN definitely helped.
