Thank you! I did consider writing for astrobites in grad school, but never had the time. :-(
I have written a few things about dynamics on my blog, though (that was my subfield): https://joe-antognini.github.io/ https://joe-antognini.github.io/
- astrophysician 7y agoAh great blog theme! I’ll definitely peruse...I just defended last November (variable stars) and now I miss it. Hope life outside academia is going well for you. Best of luck!
- nlh 7y agoI wonder if it's astronomy/astrophysics in particular, but I've found you folks are particularly good at having a layperson explanation locked and loaded. Anyway, it's appreciated and this really was a great answer.
- sharkweek 7y agoTwo of my cousins, twin brothers coincidentally, are both astronomers. One is in research and the other teaches full time now. You’re right, that of almost any PhD I know (admittedly not that many) they are both able to explain what they have studied or written about clearer than any of the others I know. The family loves when they both get talking about this theory and that, it makes for great conversation the rare times everyone is together.
