YES! Really great explanation! Have you considered writing for astrobites or any Astro blog for that matter?

    Ah great blog theme! I’ll definitely peruse...I just defended last November (variable stars) and now I miss it. Hope life outside academia is going well for you. Best of luck!

    I wonder if it's astronomy/astrophysics in particular, but I've found you folks are particularly good at having a layperson explanation locked and loaded. Anyway, it's appreciated and this really was a great answer.

      Two of my cousins, twin brothers coincidentally, are both astronomers. One is in research and the other teaches full time now. You’re right, that of almost any PhD I know (admittedly not that many) they are both able to explain what they have studied or written about clearer than any of the others I know. The family loves when they both get talking about this theory and that, it makes for great conversation the rare times everyone is together.
