- filoleg 7y agoInsurance might not be required, depending on your jurisdiction. In fact, in some states (WA state, for example) motorcycle insurance is not required, regardless of whether it is a 50cc or a 750cc bike. You still need a driver's license to operate an under 50cc scooter, but it doesn't need to be a special motorcycle license, a general driver's license that a heavy majority of people already possess is enough.
