Since TR4 has reportedly been present in Southeast Asia for quite a while, sighting a ton of TR4-vulnerable bananas growing there would be evidence that the story is sensationalized. But if the bananas you saw are TR4-resistant, your anecdote isn't really relevant at all. In that case, or if you don't know which case it is, you really can't justifiably say that the article is sensationalized.
