Ask HN: how to KB select "New York" in dropdown lists?
Any US State that has a space in it is painful to type to completion because when I type space, my browser resets to any word and I'll jump instead of "Yukon" or something.
Anyone have an idea of how to choose a selection with a space inside a dropdown list?
Sorry to populate Ask HN with such mundanity but I couldn't think of a more avid group of life hackers except for possibly somewhere in a vim/emacs forum.
- middlegeek 16y agoI am not 100% sure if this is what you are asking but with a state based drop-down, hit the letter "N" six times in a row and New York should be highlighted. Hit the enter key and you have selected it.
- dy 16y agoCool - thanks, I guess this is faster than "New" + the hand move to the arrow keys + 3 arrow keys. I hate that these things bother me :)
