I switched to xfce about a year ago (from gnome) and have not looked back yet. It is great and I quite like the "oldschool" feel. Really recommend trying it out

- kgwxd 7y agoI've been using Xubuntu for about 10 years now. Over the weekend, I tried to switch my main desktop to Ubuntu. The animations instantly drove me back. I didn't even bother looking if I could turn them off because I knew, even if there is an option, I'd be fighting with them after every update for the rest of my life.
