What culture? American culture, the one that is comprised almost entirely of immigrant experiences?
- blamewhitey 7y agoevery culture is the result of immigration and foreign influences, that doesn't mean Americans lose the right to have a country for themselves. India is a nation of immigrants heavily influenced by centuries of foreign rule. Does that mean Indians don't have a culture?
- untog 7y agoI never said America doesn't have a culture. I said that it is almost entirely informed by immigrant experiences, so the idea of shutting off new immigrant experiences makes no sense. You're just picking some arbitrary moment and saying "culture is done now". Culture is not and has never been some static constant throughout time. It's always changed, in few places more so than in America.
- blamewhitey 7y agoSo the fact that white british people stared moving to india in the 1800's means that the Indian government can't have any restriction on white people immigrating to India in 2019?
