Great, that means we can vote to require meat at every meal. Don't like it? Too bad, so sad, we have the right to control what you eat.

- saagarjha 7y agoYou cannot force people to eat something.
- CommieDetector 7y agoThen you can not force people _not_ to eat something.
- gbear605 7y agoThere’s an established precedent in (American) law that it’s generally okay to forbid an action but it’s not okay to mandate an action. For example, you can stop people from driving without a license, but you can’t make everyone get a license.
- magduf 7y agoI hate to point it out, but ObamaCare is an example of the reverse: you're mandated to purchase health insurance, or else pay a hefty penalty fee.
- gbear605 7y agoYeah, and that’s part of why it was so controversial. On top of that, op seemed to be suggesting making it illegal - as in go to jail - not having a penalty, which is substantially different.
- matz1 7y agoYes, its going to be not easy but at very least if you are meat eater, you should fight for the law to ban meat to ever become reality.
