  Haha, well, I'm skeptical that obscure exegesis is much of a way to get closer to God, though maybe for this audience it could be. As it's impossible to quantify the unknown, when we approach a subject we're not familiar with, our bias is to assume it's very simple. So I think it's helpful to dig in a little to give a hint at the vast amount of scholarly work done on these subjects.
