So many "foundations" that are either reputation-launderers for moneyed interests, or so tied to a foredrawn conclusion that every result must be carefully post-filtered to avoid career suicide. With their livelihoods (and independence) assured, this task was typically handled by the upper classes in old Europe. Once the dust settles, the same pattern will probably be revealed for the present day.
