He probably meant that one bug isn't going to chase people away from Apple, unless there are a good deal of bugs that they've had to deal with or the bug is serious enough in itself. This bug seems pretty bad but I doubt it will chase everyone away, except the ones who felt the repercussions of it. Off-topic: BTW, we've yet to find out what the problem was (I have doubts we'll ever find out,) so we can't 100% say if the bug would have been found sooner or later if the software had been FOSS.
