I remember when a friend of mine got their first HD TV and Blu-ray, none of us had ever seen that stuff. We were still used to CRT screens, and at best DVD. We borrowed a movie, fired it up - and everyone thought there was something wrong with the movie. The image quality looked almost like something from handheld camera, just very non-cinematic. We returned the movie, and went with another one. Nope, same problem. We just figured that's the way HD looked like.
