Hi from Grass Valley :) I've been working remote here for a few years and have had a different experience. Verizon cell phone coverage is fine for me here (tho it was terrible on AT&T). Agree that broadband access can be really spotty, but if you live in town the options are ok. We have 250Mbps at the house, and Comcast says they offer gigabit, but I haven't tried it. Anyway, it's possible things have gotten better, or else it just depends a lot on the available infrastructure where you live/work.
