100,000 years, generations before you all sacrificed to make the life you enjoy right now. Someone carted you around, woke up with you, fed, clothed you. Even when you were annoying or they didn’t want to.
Each paying it forward.
You’ve been educated by your support. So many gifts given to you.
But the paying it forward stops now? Yes, your choice.
- dspillett 7y agoIf we all keep paying out forward at the same taste of growth the planet will quickly be choked of all resources. In any case yes: my choice.
- aantix 7y agoHumans innovate, we evolve. No reason to think we won't continue to do so. Unless educated, fitting individuals choose not to have children. Then humanity doesn't have a chance.
- dspillett 7y agoAt the current rates of innovation and population growth I'd wager that our chances aren't looking too good long term anyway. Or medium term for that matter depending on how we define that. I have far more "gifts" to pass on to friends, family, and society, than the act of impregnating someone. Does it not occur to you that my contribution to society could be more efficient that way than having children? Perhaps this is part of the innovation of which you speak? Also, you might want to meet me before makeing any "fitting individual" judgement!
