My exposure from the word was from listening to The Roots, a rap group from Philadelphia. I was able to use context clues to assume the word was mixed purpose, but didn't get confirmation until I searched for it years after hearing it. On the more embarrassing side, it took me way longer then I would care to admit to understand that "Illadelph" was slang for the name of the city.
