- punnerud 7y agoAnd I think Brazil is trying to replicate the model
- knd775 7y agoNo, this is what Brazil should've done decades ago but could not due to corruption and short-sightedness. Nowadays, the only model that they are trying to replicate is that of authoritarian regimes.
- flaviojuvenal 7y agohow so?
- KFC_Manager 7y agoThis might be a good resource to get some more context on different countries’ energy systems and where petroleum plays in. https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/sloan-school-of-management/15-031j-energy-decisions-markets-and-policies-spring-2012/lecture-notes/ https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/sloan-school-of-management/15-03... This is particularly visual. Not taking away from Farouk al-Kasims contribution but find Norway to see how unique their particular situation is.
- KFC_Manager 7y agoForgot the link to the energy maps https://e-reports-ext.llnl.gov/pdf/473335.pdf https://e-reports-ext.llnl.gov/pdf/473335.pdf
- ZeroGravitas 7y agoThose are a little hard to compare since the green square for petroleum is the same size reagrdelss of number. But ignoring that, Norway's chart don't seem that different from Iran, Iraq etc. What did you intend to demonstrate via these charts.
- KFC_Manager 7y agoDefinitely similar and the green cubes dont really show scale per capita at all. Didnt try to demonstrate anything other than to show some context for where Norways energy resources go compared to other countries.
