I'm really glad that's becoming a part of public discourse. Of course, poor performance is an ethical and economical issue. As the latter, we've been largely ignoring it in PC era (as a software guy, you don't pay for the hardware you're wasting so why should you care?) and now it's starting to be a concern with the cloud.
