Pretty tough when it's your bank. I get marketing phone calls from Bell all the time trying to sell me on more TV channels. Joke's on them - I don't even own a TV! I tell them every time they call, they say thank you, and I get a call from them again every four weeks or so.

For most big banks/institutions, important account emails are usually sent from a different domain than marketing campaigns. YMMV though.

  I don't think I've ever had a single marketing email from my bank (cahoot), tbh.
