I wouldn't say they don't count but buses tend to be much slower than driving while trains with dedicated tracks can quite easily be faster than driving if traffic is bad or its hard to find parking at the destination. Now, high quality bus services with dedicated lanes can be pretty decent but most bus services aren't like that.
