Ring has enormous control over the ways police partners can portray its products
- deogeo 7y agoSo is it legal to bribe public officials to promote your product, without disclosing they are doing paid promotion?
- klyrs 7y agoIt's only a crime if the cop doesn't accept the bribe? /s
- xkcd-sucks 7y agoACAB isn't exactly news at this point
- mnm1 7y agoAs if Amazon wasn't scummy enough. What's next, a partnership with MS-13 or maybe the bloods or crips? Of course they are going to coordinate their messages and make it seem like this is a positive thing instead of a way of expanding the surveillance state. Sure, for now people will opt in to share videos but for how long? How long until the police start pressuring home owners to share the videos when they can't get a warrant? This is one of the most despicable partnerships I've heard about in some time.
- purplezooey 7y agoSorry, I already have a middle-aged, nutjob, hoa-crazed neighbor, I don't need video footage of his perfectly primped yard and cars too.
- one2zero 7y agoUghhh, HOAs....What a complete waste of time.
- jti107 7y agothis is the blueprint for how to get people to not use your products
