    Marketing manager is often an individual contributor role. "I am managing our content." "I am managing our product marketing material."

      In the context of other roles, one would likely not assume this. For example, considering Engineering Manager. "I am managing our engineering." Could mean you're coding, but usually it means a team of coders.

    Marketing Manager is not a manager of people but rather an IC role. It is the same as how Account Executive is not an executive in the organizational decision-making sense.
