One intermediary goal that is interesting is to try and aim for 40 pounds of meat per year or less. I forget where I read this, I think it's average meat consumption in a non-US country. Anyway it is a worthy goal but people shouldn't think they are doing their part of they are successful. I believe the numbers are that if all cows disappeared tomorrow, that'd take care of something like 5% of our worldwide carbon-equivalent emissions.
