As a not-fully-recovered Lisp weenie, I give a lot more slack to other wild-eyed idealists than I used to. Like, he's not wrong. I also had a HyperCard experience about that age, and it definitely was a significant factor years later. So he doesn't have an alternative. So what? Do you have one for cancer? It's still worth something to avoid Stockholm Syndrome.
