Can I please complain a little? Is hackernews the small local news source for the bay area bubble? I don't know what pioneer is or which scores are being manipulated or what happens to winners (or losers). I assumed the electronics company known for its amplifiers etc. was up to some dodgy shenanigans. Zero context from the title. I don't mind clicking stuff to get more context but I think some of it should be there without assuming everyone is in the loop at all time.

It's run by Y Combinator, the SV startup incubator. This too is relevant news. Also, there's a limit to the length of the headline. So it might not have been possible to include that context.

  Correction: it's run by Daniel Gross, who used to work at YC. YC has nothing to do with it.

    Other than the domain, logo and free plug posts for YC companies. So I'd say they're still tied together.

      I'm not sure what you mean, but as far as I know the organizations have no relationship.

  An obvious & explicit url link for Pioneer in your blog article might also help: https://pioneer.app https://pioneer.app Based on your previous title of "Does Silicon Valley VC tournament manipulate the scores to pick winners?", I searched google for "pioneer vc"[0]. The top links were for https://www.pioneerfund.vc https://www.pioneerfund.vc -- which is the wrong url. It was confusing because that landing page also mentions YC. [0] https://www.google.com/search?q=pioneer+vc https://www.google.com/search?q=pioneer+vc

The title used to be more descriptive, close to the blog title itself, however it was changed to the current version at some point. No idea why.
