Okay, so what part of this open source and locally hosted application will do the datamining?

  1) OTA still can be disabled only by hacking the source code https://github.com/mozilla-iot/gateway/issues/565#issuecomment-367019060 https://github.com/mozilla-iot/gateway/issues/565#issuecomme... 2) Mozilla VPN is recommended for tunneling, this is where most of data harvesting will occur. The same idea that Opera and others came with (many years ago)

This a fully self-hosted OSS projected. You can run this on a Raspberry Pi.
