I'm a big Linux fan, and use it as my daily driver but I can't understand why so many people are talking about Linux when it's been very clearly explained why the chose an MS stack. They had already got experience with it! That's why they chose it. In my opinion go with the stack you have experience with, don't just do what everyone else is doing.
