I tried switching to Gitlab for my hobby projects over a year ago (before Github had free private repos), but recently, have decided to move back to Github, mostly for UX purposes. Not sure what it is about Gitlab's UI, but I find it more difficult to navigate and parse visually than Github's. I am a hobbbyist developer though and rarely work with other people. Granted, Gitlab CI was awesome the one time I used it.
