Is there a way to do this with just plain ol' javascript? Or do I have to use the "language?" Things like this scare me because it's like a more tightly coupled coffeescript that's gonna be hell to maintain in 10 years, will become awkward with new (JavaScript) language features, or will just omit those features until its untimely demise...
