No, but I have heard some bad stuff from Martin & Co at work which matches your experience. The only decent landlord I have had was a rich guy in Cambridge who marketed his properties (he also built them) through Savills (crazy fees though) and managed them himself, without an agent. So I agree with you. Having middle-men tends to make things even worse.
