I hear you. I grew up in an Asian country with very very frugal day-to-day lifestyle. Think restaurant eating only on birthdays. Watched movies in theaters only twice in 18 years. I have serious trouble spending money. I just feel so bad spending $15 on a movie ticket or buying t-shirts more than $10. This despite earning well into six figures, in NYC as well. Growing up with shortage has fucked our psychology.
