I am developing a new rich editor for web. I have heard of org mode, but I have never used it. The direction I am heading for is seamless markdown, inspired by https://typora.io/ https://typora.io/ Seeing how popular this is made me feel worried that seamless markdown may not be the right direction. What do you think is the good features markdown lacks? I know markdown doesn’t have calendar and some features, but some markdown engines support add-ons.

org-mode for a nice WYSIWYG, I feel, is like a Saturn V rocket for de-spidering your basement. Works great; maybe a bit too powerful for the average use case.
