To me, the most interesting thing about this is that I was familiar with the implementation but never figured this was a thing on its own or even has a name. Makes sense that stuff like timing, scheduling etc. has a field of knowledge on its own. This makes me wonder what other unknowns in the area of commonly used processes I don't know about.
