industrial plant agriculture is bad for every animal :( mice are shredded with the earth, deer are killed whith the harvest and shot when trying to eat it. The stuff is sprayed with insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, rodenticides. Poor People who can't afford organic eat these poisons and kill their gut microbiome which then leads to all sorts of illnesses. It's really bad, no matter if you eat meat or plant food.

- sametmax 7y agoThat's not the problem. The resources (land, energy, man power, products, water, pollution, money, etc) required by calorie are way higher for meat. Hence we must produce crappy food to get that quantity for everybody. And of course as a consequence, we have a lot less resources for growing things for human. Also, because animals are higher in the food chain, they concentrate all the active products we give to them directly (hormones, antibiotics...) or indirectly (pesticides, herbicides...).
