He didn't control for parental education, he controlled for recent immigration status.
- kenjackson 16y agoWhich is unfortunate because parental education and income are in the dataset. I wish I had the time to sift through it.
- pmorici 16y agoIt seems like he is using immigration status as a proxy for parental education level. As he later notes the effect is non existent and in fact opposite in Canada and Australia which he attributes to the skills based immigration system.
