  There were a _lot_ of armchair firefighters that day, questioning why there was so little water being (apparently) sprayed on the fire. On reddit especially, I was downvoted heavily for explaining that they were likely making a defensive stand inside the structure (similar comments on HN were well received).

  A lot of people on online boards (including HN) were critical of the firefighting efforts.
