I agree with this, and believe the positive changes will continue the longer people go without tv. I've been without cable for 8 years and I'm so much happier. When I visit my parents they always watch tv after dinner, and while sitting with them I've noticed how terrible tv shows are. It's strange, but it's like once the spell was broken I could see it for what it is: contrived and unoriginal narratives designed to keep people's attention and get them to sit through commercials.
