The G4 Cube was a good idea but was overpriced. Yes it was smaller and prettier than the G4 tower, but it was also far less expandable. It was priced to be a 2000’s-era executive desk ornament, and I suspect they simply misjudged the market for the Cube. But the idea was solid and a few years later a substantially similar product was released to massive success—the Mac mini.
