- tda 7y agoDon't forget the $150 dlc, that is probably not included. And the base game is pretty minimal
- Arn_Thor 7y agoNot really, the base game is well worth it on its own, especially at sale price
- fsloth 7y agoDevelopment needs resources. I don't see why there is so much hate towards well crafted DLC content. The base game is great as it is, and nobody forces you to buy the DLC.
- swarnie_ 7y agoDLC released every few months which adds new features or mechanics is perfectly fine. I'm not sure if its still the case by Skyline's team used to release DLC in two parts, a bit for a free and an extra bit you had to pay for, they do it really really well. Generally there's a stigma around DLC cut out of the original game to be sold as extras on top, See anything EA / Ubisoft crap out.
- louhike 7y agoIt's the standard way for games developed or published by Paradox. It helps to diversify the gameplay after some time and you choose what you want to add from all the DLC.
- vanderZwan 7y agoThe issue is that DLC is an umbrella term that applies to both exploitative micro-transactions as well as what used to be known as "expansions"
- Sahhaese 7y agoAs someone who played the base game when it came out, it was a complete game at the time and doesn't require DLC to be fun.
- hdkrgr 7y agofyi, many of the dlcs are on sale as well
- std_throwaway 7y agoAlso take a look at these free mods: * Network Extensions 2 (More roads.) * Precision Engineering (Better placement of roads.) * Move It (Fine adjustment of roads after placing them.) * Traffic Manager PE (Better control of intersections.) * Real Time (Better day/night/week cycle with rush hour.) * Extended Game Options (More tiles to build on.)
- folli 7y agoAny experience running it on Linux? Using Wine?
- helb 7y agoIt runs on Linux natively. Works well for me (installed via Steam).
- onli 7y agoSame goes for all the extensions. The Linux version is really solid.
- Snuggle 7y agoThe performance is a fraction of that on Windows though, from my experience.
- want2know 7y agoMight this be a memory issue? I run it on Xubuntu and noticed it sometimes uses all my 8GB RAM so the PC starts swapping.
- yellowapple 7y agoYeah, C:S will gobble RAM like there's no tomorrow, especially if you've got a lot of mods installed.
- jjwhitaker 7y agoIt loves RAM (and probably RAM speed), but not necessarily in a bad way. Jumping to 16gb (2x8gb) from 8gb (1x8gb) on the laptop I first played it on was a big jump in performance even with a GT740.
- distances 7y agoNot my experience. Performance is pretty equal for me, always a bit laggy.
