I don't stay in hotels. Is this an issue of pull vs. push pricing? I rented a van just now. Hidden somewhere was a 1p per mile AdBlue charge. I don't want to pay that. It was not quoted to me originally. If I were paying in cash I could just not pay it and it'd be their move. Credit cards and the associated bureaucracy make that way more hassle than it's worth.
