Reminds me of what I wrote sometime back here on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20131518 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20131518 I can understand what she means when she talks about expectations. This is too common in China and India. It is difficult to explain to those who have never gone through what she is describing. Luckily I have parents who do not pressure me to do the stuff she talks about. But I have seen my fair share to know what it is like.
