- TheOtherHobbes 7y agoThey've simulated a physical system using digital hardware and software that would operate like a read-only optical neural network analog if it existed in a physical substrate. I suppose the next stage is to develop another digital analog of a physical system which can decide for readers if the original digital analog of a physical system is "real AI". Presumably with sufficient training it would be able to read and assess New Scientist articles about its own development.
