It's still perfectly possible to design languages [0] for efficient single pass compilation, but they won't look like C#, Swift or Rust.

- cpeterso 7y agoWhat syntactic changes would be necessary for C++, C#, or Java style language to allow one-pass compilation?
- skybrian 7y agoUsually declarations need to come before usages. (Like happens with C headers.) Or else, you need to be able to generate the output for a usage without seeing the declaration.
